Graded Position Traits:

  • Athleticism: 8/10 (Would not call him a freak athlete but he should test very well)
  • Bend: 5/10 (While he has the athleticism to do it, you do not see him even attempt to get low and around tackles. This is assuming he can learn)
  • Burst: 9/10 (He alternates it but at times his burst is elite and he is past the o line before they can blink)
  • Durability: 10/10 (No injuries of note playing high snap counts for three straight seasons)
  • Hands: 7/10 (Repeatedly gets inside leverage with hands on offensive lineman. Needs to learn to use hands to swipe o lineman and displace them in different plays)
  • Pass Rushing Moves: 6/10 (Relies heavily on a pull-rip move to try and get past the o lineman to varying levels of success.  For his speed you would love to see chopping and spin moves but he does not have a diverse move set yet. He has the athleticism to develop them.)
  • Run Defense: 5/10 (Do not seem him being a massive factor here at the nfl. He is patient but when tackles get their hands on him they overpower him and he cannot separate from them to get to the running back. He does hustle when on the opposite side of the run direction to get in and try to make the tackle though)
  • Tackling: 5/10 (Really struggles to wrap people up and take them down. It could be argued his dip in sack numbers is because he just could not tackle. He was better last year which makes it so odd as to why he missed so many this year)
  • Strength: 4/10 (Can see him getting overpowered by nfl tackles especially in the run game. He is not weak by any means, but his size suggests he will rely much more on speed at the next level)
  • Versatility: 7/10 (He can play on the line in different alignments with his hand in the dirt or standing up. He also dropped back in coverage some but his tackling ability could prevent this at the NFL from being a real asset to his game)

Prospect Grade: 66/100; 66% (Starter Potential)

Projected Draft Day: 1

Player Comparison: Josh Allen

Player Summary:

Anderson is in the conversation for the first overall pick. However, we feel there are some slight concerns. For someone with his sack numbers, he is more unpolished than you may think. His pass rushing move set is limited. He has great athletic upside, and offers a ton of versatility, but he needs more development than people think.
