Graded Tight End Traits:

  • Athleticism: 8/10 (He is a very good athlete, would like to see more high pointing of catches but not necessarily his fault)
  • Durability: 7/10 (Tore meniscus this year but did come back in time for bowl game, will be interesting to see medicals at combine)
  • Hands: 9/10 (Can be very reliable at the next level. Drops happen every once in a while but it is rare and excels at catching off target passes)
  • RAC Ability: 9/10 ( He has all the tricks. Stiff arms, jukes, spins, and more for a big man)
  • Run Blocking: 4/10 (He tries and has okay form but far too often he gets turned around or just misses on his blocks. Also not too strong here)
  • Route Running: 10/10 (Runs some sharp routes for a tight end. Uses double moves and has the ability to plant his foot in the ground and cut hard)
  • Speed: 7/10 (Has enough speed to get by players but do not think he will run anything blazing)
  • Strength: 6/10 (Average strength in blocking. Could use to get more out of lower body. Better as a runner though)

Prospect Grade: 60/80; 75% (Pro Bowl Potential)

Projected Draft Day: 2

Player Comparison: Mark Andrews

Player Summary:

He needs a ton of development in his blocking to be a more complete player at the next level. It is not for a lack of willingness to try; he just needs refinement. However, he can be elite at the next level as a receiving threat due his insane route running. He looks like a receiver when he cuts, use double moves, or stutter steps. I expect him to be used a ton as a big slot with the size and enough speed to beat up on corners.
