Insight into All
Things NFL Draft

Prospect Profile: Jordan Davis

Player: Jordan Davis

School: Georgia

Height and Weight: 6’6”, 341

Combine Results:

  • 40: 4.78
  • Bench: DNP
  • Vertical Jump: 32
  • Broad Jump: 123
  • 3 Cone:DNP
  • Other Notes: Davis tested like a unicorn based on his size. His 40 and jumps at 340 pounds are just insane. He looked pretty fluid throughout the positional drills. He reportedly has been working on his pass rushing moves and believes he can be more than a run stuffer. He also showed up at the combine lighter than his college weight and as long as he can keep the weight off that is big. Lastly, he and Wyatt stayed after their drills all night to support their teammates in the linebacker drills. His interviews suggest he may be one of the most likable players in the NFL and in this draft.

Strengths: Elite athleticism for his size, very valuable asset in the run game, has a lightning fast first step that shows massive pass rushing upside, had one of the best overall combines of anyone there, high character guy,

Weaknesses: Played in the Georgia rotation so conditioning and all down play potential is unknown, despite the upside there was limited pass rushing results, has the ability to get through the line right away but stiff when having to follow a quarterback (although that is not something he should be doing a ton),

Projected Draft Day: Day 1

Player Comparison: Fletcher Cox

Player Summary: Jordan Davis’s tape showed someone that could be one of a kind in the NFL. He has insane size at the tackle, but his first step suggests a very good pass rusher at the next level. He could be unlocked to be an elite run stuffer that can eat up two lineman in the run game, but also someone that bullies guards and centers. He is a high IQ it seems and the kind of personality that coaches, players, and fans will gravitate towards. Finding a comparison for him is so difficult. The one that comes to mind is Fletcher Cox, who is a very good pass rusher and run defender. However, Davis is two inches bigger, 30 pounds heavier, and tested athletically (much better jumps) than Cox. He is one of our top prospects in this draft and could be a shocking selection as early as top five.
