Player: Greg Dulcich
School: UCLA
Height and Weight: 6’4”, 243
Combine Results:
- 40: 4.69
- Bench: 16
- Vertical Jump: 34
- Broad Jump: 122
- 3 Cone: 7.05
- 20 yd Shuttle: 4.37
- Other Notes: NFL network would not stop talking about him at the combine, every rep was highlighted. This is not a good or bad thing, but when he tested good athletically (but not otherworldly), and did nothing to stand out in the drills it was rather odd. He was not the only player they did this to over the combine, but he was the only tight end. As stated, he looked fine in the drills, but nothing spectacular.
Strengths: good route runner, willing and able blocker downfield, decent blocking on the line on the occasions where he did this, very versatile (played slot, h back, and sometimes on the line), good speed and hands, can track the deep throw well
Weaknesses: While he does nothing bad, he also does not seem to be elite in any areas either, not much offered after the catch (ball carrier moves),
Projected Draft Day: Day 2
Player Comparison: Hayden Hurst
Player Summary: Dulcich is a do it all tight end with decent size and good athleticism. He can block, line up anywhere on the field, and has good receiving ability. While he does do all of these things, none of these abilities are elite traits. He may very well be the safest tight end in this class and the most ready to start day one. But, his upside appears to be limited. This is not necessarily a knock as he can be a good starter for years, but we do not expect him to reach top five in the league status or anything of that nature. We expect him to go on day two and be a very good second tight end right away, with the capability to handle starting duties if asked.
