USC Trojans wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown (8) and Drake London celebrate after London's touchdown catch; UCLA at USC. November 23, 2019, Los Angeles, CA

Prospect Profile: Drake London

Player: Drake London

School: USC

Height and Weight: 6’4”, 219

Combine Results:

  • Other Notes: London did not participate in the combine as he is still recovering from his injury.

Strengths: Uses hands to catch the ball, decently elusive for his size, pretty good cuts especially on in routes, has good speed for his size, uses size to create separation with stiff arms, willing blocker, does a lot of hand fighting on routes to give him an edge, good route tree

Weaknesses: Fractured right ankle in October, could add some more strength to his frame, never played a full college season (but only one major injury reported)

Projected Draft Day: Day 1 (as long as ankle is healed)

Player Comparison: Mike Evans

Player Summary: This comparison of London to Evans was first thought of based on size, but the more tape you watch, the more you see the similarities. They both use their hands and size to catch passes over top of the secondary, both run good routes for their size, both use their hands to fight and create separation on deep passes, and both are more elusive than anticipated as a runner. London could be a great red zone target and alpha in most offenses as Evans has been for Tampa. However, London fractured his ankle last October. A very serious injury that can impact cuts, confidence, and many other aspects of a wide receiver’s game. It does not sound like it will affect his stock much, but it is something to keep an eye on. He also did not play a full season’s worth of games the two years prior, so it is unknown how he will hold up over a full NFL season. He carries a caution tag, but you cannot teach size and a feel for the position that London has.
