Player Summary: Alec Lindstrom is a good lineman, but is most likely not day one ready. Finding a team who has an established veteran that he can sit and learn from would be in his best interest. The thing I like most about Lindstrom is his heart and his competitiveness. He may not be the biggest, fastest, strongest, or best lineman in this year’s class, but you can never count him out. Even if he gets pushed back or beaten, he continues to fight to the whistle. He represents the phrase, “it’s not about the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.”

Lindstrom is definitely a better run blocker than he is a pass blocker, and would definitely excel in a run first offense. What I will say is that Lindstrom has solid pass blocking technique. Although he is not the best pass blocker, his already established technique will help for a quicker development than others. Lindstrom has some work to do with the basics though. When blocking he can tend to overextend his upper body and shift his center of gravity in a negative way. Lindstrom also needs to work on his footwork; he can tend to be heavy on his feet or just plant and try to hold his ground. He needs to keep moving his feet. Lindstrom can also tend to let defensive lineman get into his chest; he needs to work on extending his arms to keep them off him. My biggest issue with him in pass protection is his awareness. Lindstrom can tend to jump the gun too early to help  the guard and leave a giant gap for backers to shoot or late stunters to go through. Lindstrom needs to be more aware of blitzers and stunters, and overall just have his head on a swivel more.
