- Height: 6’4”(NFL Combine)
- Weight: 313(NFL Combine)

- Other Notes: Skoronski had a super strong Combine. He tested atop the offensive line charts in everything except for the 40 and 3 cone. Unfortunately, for me athleticism was never the question for Skoronski, it was wingspan, holding tendencies, and technique inconsistencies. His Combine performance will probably have him rising on some people’s rankings, but I don’t know if I can have him jump Johnson… not yet at least. The OT rankings are pretty close in my head right now though.

Player Summary:
Peter Skoronski seems to be the consensus No.1 tackle prospect in this year’s draft by most platforms. I have to be honest, I don’t know what all this hype is about. I’m sorry, but Skoronski is not the No. 1 tackle in this class. I’m not saying he’s going to fall to the second round or anything irrational, but I think there’s a lot to worry about with his game.
My first big red flag is that Skoronski has a tendency to bear hug defenders while he’s run blocking. In pass pro he has a tendency to get his arms wrapped around defenders a little too much. I think he’s a walking penalty waiting to happen. Also, while he’s in pass pro he’s got a little bit of inconsistency in his kick slide, it’s actually more so in his arms and upper body more than it is his lower body. Although, honestly I thought his tape in general was somewhat inconsistent.
My next point revolves around his wingspan. I didn’t want to put it under the negatives because like height and age, it’s not something he can control. I didn’t want to ignore it either though, I think it still needs to be addressed. Skoronski looks like he has short arms. Not all defensive players, but at full lockout there are some players who will be able to keep Skoronski off of them and use their length over him to their advantage. With shorter arms, it also isn’t as easy to make strong initial contact. I think someone like Joey Bosa or Chandler Jones would make Skoronski’s life miserable.
Now, taking a look at the positives. I think that Skoronski looks pretty agile, he moves well. He can definitely pull as he was ranked the third center in his recruiting class. He looks really good when he pulls too. Skoronski for the most part also combines a good center of gravity with some pretty good footwork.
Overall, I like Skoronski, but not as much as I like some of the other tackles I’ve watched. As I stated earlier I think he’s a walking penalty waiting to happen. He definitely needs some pro coaching to help clean up his technique a bit, which should hopefully produce more consistency. I’m not going to sit here and argue that he needs to move to the interior of the offensive line, but if someone came up to me and said Skoronski will be playing IOL in a couple years, I wouldn’t be upset or shocked by any means.
UPDATE 3/22:
The more and more I think about it, the more I find myself liking Skoronski as an IOL player. I think he could play either guard or center. He has been moved to our IOL rankings.
