NFL Draft 2022 Day 2 Team Grades

With some teams getting their first choices on day 2, it is important to make sure you hit on these picks. No choice is guaranteed though, and some picks were great while others were questionable. In this article Zach and Jack provide their NFL draft 2022 day 2 team grades.

Arizona Cardinals- Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State(2.55); Cam Thomas, DE, San Diego State(3.87); Myjai Sanders, EDGE, Cincinnati(3.100)

Jack’s Grade: B

Thoughts: The only thing saving this grade is Trey McBride. With the re-signing of Zach Ertz it’s looking like the Cardinals could start running more 12 personnel. I also like the thought of McBride learning from Ertz. Arizona did address the front 7 with Thomas and Sanders, but they are more reliant on their upside than readiness right now. The other issue I have is that they needed pure defensive lineman rather than rushers, so that drops the grade a little bit.

Zach’s Grade: B-

Thoughts: McBride was our TE one, and he can split reps with Zach Ertz who he has shades of. It just begs the question of what kind of offense they are going to run. Cam Thomas and Myjai Sanders are alright picks, but at least it was in a position of need. They could have used an interior defensive lineman, but there is still value there on Day three.

Atlanta Falcons: Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE, Penn State(2.38); Troy Anderson, LB, Montana State(2.58); Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati(3.74); DeAngelo Malone, EDGE, Western Kentucky(3.82)

Jack’s Grade: C-/D+

Thoughts: All of these picks are based more on upside than it is players who are plug-and-play day 1 guys. Personally I wonder why another receiver wasn’t taken, or anyone in the secondary. AJ Terrell is the only name of note in their secondary. In a front seven that I thought actually was pretty good they took 3 front seven players. I know your sack numbers suck, but the quantity of players isn’t necessarily going to fix that. I do think that this is a good situation for Ridder though to sit and learn for a year or two before getting the start.

Zach’s Grade:C-

Thoughts: The C- is all about getting Ridder in the third. While we would have taken any of the other ones that were available, the third round for any of them is hardly a risk. He has no pressure to be on the field anytime soon and can continue the developing he has done since a freshman in college. The reason it is not better is all of the other picks. We are not fans of Ebiketie, and Anderson was very early especially compared to the other backers that were there. Doubling down on edge can workout but they could have also used one to two more receivers.

Baltimore Ravens: David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan(2.45); Travis Jones, DL, UConn(3.76)

Jack’s Grade: A+

Thoughts: I said it yesterday, the Ravens may be the best drafting team in the league; they continue to show it today. They take the super upside pick in the Ojabo and the safe pick still with upside in Jones. You miss out on Jordan Davis, but get a steal of Jones in the third.

Zach’s Grade: A+

Thoughts: Ravens continued winning this draft. Ojabo is a first round talent that fell due to injury. We also had Travis Jones as a first round talent too and they got him in the third. Two more needs were checked off the board.

Buffalo Bills: James Cook, RB, Georgia(2.63); Terrel Bernard, LB, Baylor(3.89)

Jack’s Grade: A-/B+

Thoughts: This grade is more about Cook than it is Bernard. I can’t really punish the Bills for taking Bernard because all of their picks are kind of luxury picks, but I’ve heard good things about Bernard, I just wonder how he’ll fit into the snap counts with Edmunds and Milano. On the other hand, I love the Cook signing. We’ve been saying it, the Bills are lacking a serious check down option for Josh Allen. Cook can be that guy, and also has upside as a runner. You miss out on McKissic, but end up with Cook instead. Great choice.

Zach’s Grade:B

Thoughts: I like the James Cook pick, it just felt early. However, when you see the running back guys like the 49ers took, it may not have been too much of a reach. Terrel Bernard feels like a luxury pick, but the awesomeness that was Kyle Brandt’s pick announcement for his selection makes it worth it.

Carolina Panthers: Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss(3.94)

Jack’s Grade: D

Thoughts: At least you took a QB… I guess??? Howell was still on the board, and would’ve fallen to you in the 4th, this was a mistake. I don’t like the trade either. They had to give up their 4th and a 3rd next year. When you look at some of the other trades made so far this draft, this is actually considered a lot. Not the right player, and overpaid for the trade.

Zach’s Grade: C

Thoughts: To me, this is not bad because the Panthers stayed patient and did not force the issue. However, I do not know what Corral adds more of (besides a quicker release) that Darnold does not. He has off the field risks (although he has been open and honest with his struggles) and is not the best when going off script. We really feel Howell would have been the better pick, but again Carolina did not go crazy with a trade up into the second or anything so it is not awful.

Chicago Bears: Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington(2.39); Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State(2.48); Velus Jones, WR, Tennessee(3.71)

Jack’s Grade: B

Thoughts: I like these picks for the Bears. I think Kyler Gordon was a steal and will be a great CB2 opposite Johnson. Brisker I personally wasn’t high on, I thought he may even go a little later in the round, but to get him on day 2 is still solid value. Velus Jones is one of our sleepers at WR, so to get him in the third is super value. The only reason this grade isn’t higher for me is because you fixed the secondary over prioritizing Fields. I know Eberflus is a defensive guy, but Fields is the reason you don’t have a first rounder this year. He is potentially your franchise QB, you need to protect him first off and give him weapons.

Zach’s Grade: A

Thoughts: The Bears took a gamble with passing on receiver twice to address their secondary in the second, and it payed off. They took two desperate needs at corner and safety, and then ended up with one of my biggest sleeper receivers in Velus Jones. He can start right away in the slot and be an elite return man.

Cincinnati Bengals: Cam Taylor-Britt, CB, Nebraska(2.60); Zachary Carter, DE, Florida(3.95)

Jack’s Grade: C

Thoughts: The Bengals took another versatile defensive back, and addressed the defensive line. I guess you can consider the Bengals picks as luxury picks, but man I still have questions. You now bring in safety/corner hybrids Taylor-Britt and Hill, but not a pure CB, which I’d argue was their only need heading into the draft. If this is a pure CB, then maybe the grade is higher, but I just feel like the CB spot still hasn’t really been addressed. They also addressed the defensive line which I didn’t even think was close to a need, I would’ve thought O-line or tight end, but they continue to add to the defense and trust that Burrow and the offense will pick up where they left off.

Zach’s Grade: D

Thoughts: The Bengals took two luxury picks that were not amazing picks in of themselves. I really do not like either of their choices, but they have drafted will recently so I cannot put an F in thoughts that they know what they are doing.

Cleveland Browns: Martin Emerson, CB, Mississippi State(3.68); Alex Wright, DE, UAB(3.78); David Bell, WR, Purdue(3.99)

Jack’s Grade: C-

Thoughts: The Browns are three corners deep with 2 of them being first rounders and the other one a second rounder. Taking Emerson was just not necessary. I’ve never heard of Alex Wright, so no comment. The only thing holding this grade above a D or lower is Bell. Bell ran slow at the combine, but when you watch his tape, getting him in round three is solid value. Probably still missing a receiver and some defensive line/edge help.

Zach’s Grade: C+

Thoughts: Emerson was not really a need here, unless they are not as happy with Williams or Newsome. Alex Wright was a decent pick I suppose, but their best was David Bell. Bell is an elite route runner with good hands and decent wiggle. His 40 time sunk him a little, but in Cleveland he can play in the slot and succeed.

Dallas Cowboys: Sam Williams, EDGE, Ole Miss(2.56); Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Alabama(3.88)

Jack’s Grade: C-/D+

Thoughts: We’ve heard that Williams has serious off the field concerns, and honestly I’m not surprised when you look at the team that picked him. On the field it sounds like he has some upside though. Only time will tell how his future plays out. As for Tolbert, he’s been a riser since the Senior Bowl. He has upside, I just don’t understand why getting a WR3 was one of your top priorities. Your secondary still needs help, your offensive line still needs help, and your linebackers could use some help outside of Parsons. Dallas gonna Dallas.

Zach’s Grade: D+

Thoughts: I do not like either of these picks, Williams is a huge risk and is not a big need. Wide receiver I guess was a need, but I also do not care for Tolbert either. This is another Dallas draft, where they went with their guys regardless.

Denver Broncos: Nik Bonitto, EDGE, Oklahoma(2.64); Greg Dulcich, TE, UCLA(3.80)

Jack’s Grade: A-/B+

Thoughts: I like that Denver addressed their needs. They got Bonitto to help rush the pass opposite Chubb, and they brought in Dulcich to compete with Albert O for the starting TE job. Where they got these guys makes them solid value picks on top of that.

Zach’s Grade: A

Thoughts: I really like both of the picks. Bonitto pairs so well with Chubb, and Dulcich is a do it all tight end that will really compliment the rest of the weapons well.

Detroit Lions: Joshua Paschal, DE, Kentucky(2.46); Kerby Joseph, S, Illinois(3.97)

Jack’s Grade: C

Thoughts: We like Paschal, we think that he’s a sleeper; however I just don’t understand why you doubled down on end. As for Joseph, you have your 2 starting safeties and a back up in Walker, Elliott, and Harris. Why was this necessary? You need help at DT and corner primarily, but I feel like you could’ve gone several different directions with your picks today. I like Campbell but to me these were head scratching moves.

Zach’s Grade: C

Thoughts: I really like Paschal as a prospect, but will he even play? Unless Detroit is looking to clean house on the defense, these two picks may not see consistent playing time for a while.

Green Bay Packers: Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State(2.34); Sean Rhyan, OL, UCLA(3.92)

Jack’s Grade: A-/B+

Thoughts: After forgetting about your franchise QB you just paid on day 1, the Packers try to right their wrongs on day 2. I like Watson, I think he has a lot of upside and room to grow, while also being a day 1 starter. What I don’t like is how they played their hand and traded up nearly 20 spots to come up and get him in what we consider kind of a “panic” move. I don’t know much about Rhyan, but you did address the line, and that’s more than can be said about other teams in the league.

Zach’s Grade: A

Thoughts: The Packer front office better be thanking their stars that their first round picks did not bite them. They should have, but they walk away from this with a borderline first round receiver and an offensive lineman that was needed.

Houston Texans:  Jalen Pitre, CB/S, Baylor(2.37); John Metchie III, WR, Alabama(2.44); Christian Harris, LB, Alabama(3.75)

Jack’s Grade: A

Thoughts: Although I’m not a fan of Pitre and think he could use a year to sit and develop; however, I can’t overlook the fact of how bad the Texans secondary was last year. I think Pitre will step in day 1 and take over the slot. He’s a great blitzer and I’m sure Lovie Smith is going to get creative with this guy. At the end of the day, these are all day 1 impact players. Where you drafted Harris in particular makes that a steal of a pick. Great job Texans.

Zach’s Grade:A+

Thoughts: I love all three picks. The Texans just need guys, and they get a secondary piece that can be moved around. Then they get a starting slot receiver on day one in John Metchie and a starting day one backer in Christian Harris.

Indianapolis Colts: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati(2.53); Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia(3.73); Bernhard Raimann, OL, Central Michigan(3.77); Nick Cross, S, Maryland(3.96)

Jack’s Grade: A+

Thoughts: Not only did the Colts address needs on the team, these are quality value picks. We aren’t the biggest fans of the Pierce fit, but you got him toward the back end of the second round, that’s value. The tight end with the highest ceiling in the third, that’s value. Raimann in the third, that’s value. Cross at the back end of the third, that’s really good value. Colts had 2 established starters at safety, so they need to figure out what to do snaps wise now, but way to not pass on the value.

Zach’s Grade: A-

Thoughts: The Alec Pierce pick I did not love. I thought a few other receivers like Skyy Moore would have given them better value for what they needed. But, it is the Jelani Woods pick that I am thrilled with.He has unlimited upside and is a matchup nightmare. Raimann was good value in the third and Cross was a curious choice with two starters in place but the value was good.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Luke Fortner, C, Kentucky(3.65); Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming(3.70)

Jack’s Grade: C

Thoughts: For me Fortner is an A-, and Muma is an F grade; C is the average. I like Fortner, I think he has some developing to do, but can step in day 1 and help protect Lawrence. I was not a fan of Muma’s tape, and I understand I’m in the minority there, but I didn’t understand the hype. Plus you drafted Walker and Lloyd, signed Oluokun in FA, and already have Allen and Chaisson. There’s absolutely no way you use all of these guys. You’re overcrowding the front seven with other needs on the team still. Interesting choices by the Jags.

Zach’s Grade: C-

Thoughts:At least they got an offensive lineman, but what in the world is the Muma pick. I do not get it at all and I do not like it. This team has other needs and you already took Lloyd and signed another.

Kansas City Chiefs: Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan(2.54), Bryan Cook, S, Cincinnati(2.62), Leo Chenal, LB, Wisconsin(3.103)

Jack’s Grade: A-

Thoughts: Skyy was getting mocked to the Chiefs in the first round. To get him in the back half of the second round is great value. I think Cook is the gem of the safety class. I would’ve hoped for a situation where he could’ve sat and developed a year, but he can be a day 1 starter and I’d be comfortable with that. I’m not high on Chenal, but to get him on the back end of day 3 is good value. I would like to see the Chiefs add to the cornerback and tight end room, but these are 3 solid value picks.

Zach’s Grade: A-

Thoughts: Skyy Moore is a steal for them at the end of the second, and Cook should start or at least push Thornhill for snaps immediately. Chenal positional wise makes sense, but there were other linebackers that could have been a better choice potentially.

Las Vegas Raiders: Dylan Parham, OG, Memphis(3.90)

Jack’s Grade: A

Thoughts: When you think about it, the Raiders really got Davante Adams and Parham today. Obviously Davante is Davante, but I’m excited about the Parham pick. He’s a solid guard who should enter camp feeling confident he can win one of the starting guard spots in Vegas. You just signed your franchise QB now it’s time to protect him.

Zach’s Grade: A

Thoughts:They had one pick, and they got a need out of the way and a good player and value at that.

Las Angeles Chargers: JT Woods, S, Baylor(3.79)

Jack’s Grade: B-?

Thoughts: This is a luxury pick for the Chargers who did most of their roster work in FA and through trade. I would’ve liked to have seen them take another lineman to help protect Herbert, but the Woods pick is fine. I didn’t have a chance to look at Woods, but it sounds like he’ll slide into the safety spot opposite Adderly, which will free up Derwin to play more in the box and wreak havoc from all over the field.

Zach’s Grade: B-

Thoughts: I think other positions would have been better, but Woods is at least good value here.

Las Angeles Rams: Logan Bruss, OG, Wisconsin(3.104)

Jack’s Grade: B?

Thoughts: The Rams at least addressed their glaring need. They lost Corbett in FA and Big Whit to retirement. Stafford just signed a big extension, and protecting him has to be the next step. Smart choice. It’s a B? because I didn’t have a chance to look at Bruss, so this pick is more based around them drafting for need.

Zach’s Grade: B-

Thoughts: The Rams hype video for this pick alone gives this a good grade. But, the player fit seems right and the position was absolutely a need for a team that does not have many.

Miami Dolphins: Channing Tindall, LB, Georgia(3.102)

Jack’s Grade: A+

Thoughts: I thought Tindall should’ve gone in the second round, so to get him at the end of the night on day 2 is an absolute steal. Tindall can blitz, play the run, and drop into coverage; he’s a do it all backer that can line up inside or outside. He is going to help Miami mix up the fronts and defensive looks and be an impact player. He could still use some development as he was only a rotational player at Georgia, but could still fight for a day 1 starting spot. If he loses, Tindall is used to being a rotational guy and is a solid special teams player. Personally, with the right development I think Tindall could be the gem of the linebackers class, and be the best of the 3 Georgia backers in this year’s class down the line.

Zach’s Grade: A+

Thoughts: They had one pick and they nailed it. Tindall was great value at this pick and does fill a need on the defense. Dolphins continue their trend upward.

Minnesota Vikings: Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson(2.42); Ed Ingram, OG, LSU(2.59); Brian Asamoah, LB, Oklahoma(3.66)

Jack’s Grade: B+

Thoughts: Minnesota moved back just to move back up to come get Booth, interesting tactic. Although I am not high on Booth in his current form, I think he offers a lot of upside with his crazy athleticism. I like the thought of him working with Pat Pete; I think if anyone can get the most out of him it will be Pat Pete. I didn’t get to look at Ingram, but I like that they addressed the line. Asamoah was a head scratching move, but it’s good third round value. I would like to see Minnesota address the TE position at some point with Irv Smith’s inability to stay healthy.

Zach’s Grade: B-

Thoughts: The pick of Booth was a good one. I like it a lot. Ingram filled a need for them but  I do not know a ton about him. Asamoah is the head scratching pick. Is Chazz Surratt not progressing? Or is he going to pair with him in the future.

New England Patriots: Tyquan Thornton, WR, Baylor(2.50); Marcus Jones, CB, Houston(3.85)

Jack’s Grade: C+

Thoughts: Moore, Pickens, and Pierce were all on the board, but Belichick reached for his guy Thornton. It’s an interesting choice for sure. Thornton is a blazer with solid hands but he’s as thin as a toothpick, there could be potential for injury issues in the pros. I like the Marcus Jones pick, I think this is good value in the third; however, he’s 5’8” and coming off double shoulder surgery. I think Jones will play nickel or kick back to safety in the pros. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

Zach’s Grade: B-

Thoughts: Thornton and Marcus Jones both fit needs for the Pats. That being said, both picks come with major risks and were risky. Thornton is ultra thin and I just wonder how he will hold up for a full NFL season. Jones is undersized and has had multiple big injuries. Both could be very valuable, but these are two of the riskier picks on day two.

New Orleans Saints: Alontae Taylor, CB, Tennessee(2.49)

Jack’s Grade: A-/B+?

Thoughts: I didn’t get to look at Taylor, but they say he has positional flexibility in the secondary. You add him to a secondary that already has CJGJ, Maye, Lattimore and Adebo. Good pick, and just another piece for an already scary defense. Unsure how to grade it because I didn’t look at Taylor but this was a need, and they addressed it.

Zach’s Grade: C

Thoughts: I guess at this point that this is a luxury pick for the Saints as their defense is pretty set. I still think a big defensive tackle would have been better, but I suppose a versatile secondary piece is not too bad to add.

New York Giants: Wan’Dale Robinson, WR, Kentucky(2.43); Joshua Ezeudu, OG, UNC(3.67); Cordale Flott, CB, LSU (3.81)

Jack’s Grade: A-

Thoughts: I think the Giants still have needs to address like RB, TE, and S, but I can’t even be mad at what they did on day 2. Adding Robinson to the receiving room is a great choice, you can get creative with play calling. Ezeudu I don’t know anything about but they address the o-line again to help protect Jones or whoever the QB is and set the foundation up front. Flott is another guy I didn’t get to look at, but it was a need so it’s a solid pick. The fact that they waited until the third to take a CB could suggest the Bradberry rumors were false.

Zach’s Grade: C+

Thoughts: Wan’Dale does exactly what Toney does. So, if Toney does leave this makes sense. If he stays I would assume Sheppard is the loser here, and Wan’dale and Toney will share the field together. It is not a bad idea I guess but I do not love it. The guard and corner selections are at least needs and are not awful picks. I wonder if they will regret not taking one of the quarterbacks in the third round.

New York Jets; Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State(2.36); Jeremy Ruckert, TE, Ohio State(3.101)

Jack’s Grade: B+

Thoughts: I really like the Breece Hall pick. I think that pairing Hall with Carter is a solid backfield when you consider Tevin Coleman was brought back as well. The Ruckert’s pick was head scratching. You signed Conklin to I believe a $7 million per year contract over several years and Uzomah to $8 million over several years. At first I thought it could be them wanting to run more 12 and 13 personnel but then they took  Wilson in the fIrst, so unless the plan is to dump Corey Davis I’m kind of confused what the offensive plan is.

Zach’s Grade: B

Thoughts: The Hall pick by itself is an A. But, the Ruckert pick does not make sense. This could be a luxury choice but they are still far from a complete team. There were other more pressing needs than a third tight end.

Philadelphia Eagles: Cam Jurgens, C, Nebraska(2.51); Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia(3.83)

Jack’s Grade: A+++

Thoughts: When I watched Jurgen’s I thought he was a good player with a lot of upside; however I thought he could use a year to sit behind a top notch, athletic center like Kelce or Mack. I could not have imagined a more perfect situation. As for Nakobe Dean, this could absolutely be the steal of the draft. You cannot teach the instincts and leadership Dean is going to bring to this team. He could get surgery and miss all of year one and this is still a steal. This may be the highest value pick of the draft. Great job Howie, you seem like you got yourself together.

Zach’s Grade: A+

Thoughts:The Eagles made two more insanely impressive and smart picks on day two. Jurgens was handpicked by Jason Kelce to be his successor it sounds like, and was amazing value. Then, they got even better value with Nakobe Dean in the third. Medicals seem to have dropped him, but even if he hypothetically missed all of his rookie season, this was still great value.

Pittsburgh Steelers: George Pickens, WR, Georgia(2.52); DeMarvin Leal, DL, Texas A&M(3.84)

Jack’s Grade: A-

Thoughts: I love the Pickens pick, this was a steal. We had a late first grade on Pickens. He doesn’t have the stats but he played at Georgia. Pickens may be the best at tracking the deep ball in this class and is the best blocker hands down. Pickens, Claypool, and Johnson will be a strong 3 with Boykin as the 4. This grade isn’t an A/A+ because of Leal. I like the Leal pick, but he helps the pass rush aspect. He doesn’t help against the run, and for a team who ranked 32(I believe) against the run last year, I would’ve thought the D-Lineman they took would’ve helped stop the run. Good value pick though for Leal

Zach’s Grade: B

Thoughts: The Pickens fit is not bad, as he and Claypool can go on the outside while Johnson operates underneath. Leal is a player I really liked. Yet, the Steelers were the worst run defense not pass rush. Leal is undersized and is very similar to the current Steeler tackle, Chris Wormley. Moving around and getting one of the big run stuffers would have been smarter.

San Francisco 49ers: Drake Jackson, DE, USC(2.61); Tyrion Davis-Price, RB, LSU(3.93); Danny Gray, WR, SMU(3.105)

Jack’s Grade: C

Thoughts: I don’t hate the Drake Jackson pick, I think it’s good value at the end of the second round, but that was your first pick and not by any means your biggest need. As for the other 2 picks, in typical 49ers fashion Shanahan takes the unknown players, this grade isn’t lower because I know Lynch and Shanahan are great drafters and Davis-Price and Gray will most likely work out.

Zach’s Grade: D

Thoughts: I really do not care for any of these picks at all. Jackson is okay I guess but I was not impressed with his film. Davis-Price makes no sense unless Sermon is a monumental bust. Gray I guess adds some speed to your team and may be more of an insurance pick should Deebo sit or force his way out, but I still do not love him here.

Seattle Seahawks: Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota(2.40); Kenneth Walker, RB, Michigan State(2.41); Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State(3.72)

Jack’s Grade: A-

Thoughts: Okay, so the reason this grade isn’t higher is because I have concerns about Mafe playing 4-3 end and having to be a 3 down player who’s going to be expected to play the run every down. I also think taking K9 was an interesting decision. I think in a way it’s smart when you look at the injury history of Carson and Penny, but you definitely had bigger needs. As for Lucas, great pick. You got great value on him in the third, and this was actually a need. Carroll and Schneider continue to say F U Russ

Zach’s Grade: B+

Thoughts: I really like the Mafe and Lucas pick. Both were amazing values for their slots. The Walker pick for potential alone is good, but you still have Carson and Penny on your roster. I guess you are getting good value and can let both walk after this season, but it was just slightly curious to me.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Logan Hall, DL, Houston(2.33); Luke Goedeke, OT, Central Michigan(2.57); Rachaad White(3.91)

Jack’s Grade: B-/C+

Thoughts: Taking Hall to start Day 2 was a good choice. The Bucs definitely needed D-Line help. The Goedeke pick was interesting because they already have 2 starting tackles, unless the plan is to kick him inside to compete for a guard spot. Otherwise it’s a head scratcher. We like White as a back, but why? You just resigned Lenny and I believe Bernard and still have Vaughn from last year. This is a head scratching move. I guess it could work out, but these for the most part we’re not the biggest needs heading into day 2.

Zach’s Grade: B-

Thoughts: If Suh is not resigned, the Logan Hall pick makes a ton of sense. I liked Leal more but I also did like Hall’s film. Goedeke is a pick that shows you can never have enough lineman I suppose. Rachaad White does not make sense to me. He is too similar to Fournette in my eyes and does not do something the backs you already have do not, and this is coming from a huge Rachaad White fan. I think they could have added another wide receiver here instead.

Tennessee Titans: Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn(2.35); Nicholas Petit-Frere, OT, Ohio State(3.69); Malik Willis, QB, Liberty(3.86)

Jack’s Grade: A-

Thoughts: Personally I feel like McCreary was a bit of a reach, I think he probably could’ve fallen a bit more before he was taken but it’s a safe pick. I like that they addressed the line with Petit-Frere. Lastly, Willis in a couple years may show that he’s the steal of this class for the QBs at the very least. To get a QB with the upside of Willis in the third is absolutely insane. He’s in an ideal situation where he can sit for a year at least or even 2 which would be incredible. Good job by Tennessee.

Zach’s Grade: A

Thoughts: McCreary was not our top corner available, but it was absolutely a need. As is the case with Petit-Frere. The massive reason this is an A is because they made a move and took Willis. They were a dark horse quarterback team, and they get one of the best high potential picks in the draft.

Washington Commanders: Phidarian Mathis, DL, Alabama(2.47); Brian Robinson, RB, Alabama(3.98)

Jack’s Grade: C+

Thoughts: Taking Mathis was by no means a necessity. I think this shows that the Payne rumors are true. You replace an Alabama D-Lineman with an Alabama D-Lineman, good thinking? I guess? Brian Robinson was another unnecessary pick, but they at least add a pure runner and some power to the RB room. They should’ve considered almost every position that they didn’t draft on day 2. Way to go Washington, bad decision on and off the field.

Zach’s Grade: C

Thoughts: Even if the rumors about Payne are true, I do not like either of these picks. I especially do not like the Robinson pick. If you want a thumper you get them on day three, not in the third. Gibson should get a lot of carries and then you have your elite pass catching back on top of him. Another receiver should have been the move instead of Brian Robinson.
