CFB Spotlight: Michael Penix Dismantled the Spartan Defenses

We are not the biggest fans of Michael Penix as a NFL prospect based on our initial scouting report. However, it cannot be denied that he is off to a torrid start this year. In his first real test of the season against Michigan State, he put on a show. It is worth mentioning that we reevaluate all of our scouting profiles during the college season, so Penix is definitely one that could jump up if the tape matches the incredible statistics.

After beating up on the likes of Boise State and Tulsa, Penix had his best game of the season against Michigan State. He completed 77% of his passes for 473 yards, 4 TDs, and 0 picks. In doing so, he jumps up our Heisman rankings to the top 3 (He was 4) and could be 1 on a lot of lists. If Penix can keep this level of performance up, he could be looking at a historical season both for Washington and in college football as a whole.
