Graded Wide Receiver Traits:

  • Durability: 7/10 (Hard to give him more than this with only one season of heavy involvement and a slender build. Injuries could be a thing at the next level)
  • Hands: 7/10 (Uses hands to catch everything but did have 5 drops this season)
  • Release: 5/10 (Very hard to predict this as he was almost never pressed and played a ton in the slot. Speed should help him some but size also makes this concerning against physical corners)
  • RAC Ability: 7/10 (A lot of this score is on his speed as people will have a hard time keeping up. He does show some stiff arm and elusiveness on tape but it isnt mind blowing)
  • Route Running: 6/10 (Super limited route tree this season as no one could cover him anyway. Did show suddenness needed to develop skill further)
  • Speed: 10/10 (Can run by pretty much anyone. Just watch the Alabama game)
  • Strength: 6/10 (Decent strength for a player his size as he does not go down without a fight but bigger players at the NFL level will not be overpowered)
  • Versatility: 5/10 (Ran way too many snaps from the slot to know how he will fare on the outside but has to speed to take jet sweeps and offer upside there)

Prospect Grade: 53/80; 66% (Starter potential)

Projected Draft Day: Late 1

Player Comparison: Will Fuller

Player Summary:

Hyatt may run in the 4.2s at the combine and get drafted in the first because of it. While not diverse in his route tree, there are signs he can develop it further with further teaching. It is unknown how he will do if placed on the outside or against press as neither ever happened at Tennessee. He is more risky than other receivers in this class but also has speed you just cannot teach.
