It may seem like an odd question for the Pitt Panthers considering they had Phil Jurkovec transfer in to seemingly have the job handed to him. However, we do not see it this way. Anyone that watched the spring game could see the issues that have continued to plague Jurkovec during his time at Boston College. There is likely going to be Quarterback controversy for the Panthers heading into this season of college football.

The reason we even bring this up is because of how good fellow transfer Christian Veilleux looked in the same spring game. Veilleux, formerly of Penn State, was a 3 star recruit for the Nittany Lions that has the tools to be a successful college QB. He has a decent arm, quick release, and good mobility that Jurkovec does not have. While Jurkovec struggled in multiple areas, Christian looked good. He was not spectacular by any means, but anyone that watched Zay Flowers film knows that Jurkovec’s issues will not suddenly improve. There are a couple other battles to follow like Tennessee (where Nico is better than Milton already), but Pitt could be one of the most fascinating.
