Player Comparison: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah

Ty’Ron Hopper Player Summary:

The  Positives

  • Extremely high motor player
  • Great use of arm extension to keep blockers off of him
  • Gap shooter
  • Sideline to sideline speed
  • Like to bump and run and keep hands on in man coverage
  • Not afraid to fill his gap

The Negatives

  • Pretty much a non-factor when blitzed through inside gaps
  • When linemen do get to him, could use work shedding
  • On blitzes and when lined up as OLB, no pass rush moves, heavily relies on speed and his effort
  • Feels like he opens his hips too early sometimes
  • Needs improvement on knowledge of gap filling
    • Looked good in Georgia and LSU games, in Tennessee game it looked like he was filling the wrong gap occasionally

Ty’Ron Hopper is a gem in this year’s draft class. According to Mock Draft Database, Hopper is being projected a 5th rounder, and if he actually falls that far it could be the steal of the draft. We truly believe that Hopper is first round worthy(although the LB position is HIGHLY devalued these days). One of the reasons why we love the JOK comp is because JOK was projected a first round by many, and fell to the late 2nd round, and now looks like an absolute steal… we envision a similar draft path for Hopper.
