    • SVP stayed close to cones in deep pull drill… Great rep
    • Didn’t love where SVP hands were on his kick slide, too low, down by his hips/thigh

Sedrick Van Pran Summary:

The Positives

  • Moves well
  • Relatively quick
  • Talked about as leader of the team and knowledgeable.
  • From a strength perspective he can handle NT

The Negatives

  • Pretty hefty leaner
  • It kind of feels like he gets overwhelmed at times because he has to snap the ball. A possible transition to guard could be in play
  • Can struggle to gets hands on and secure second level blocks
  • Anything that moves catches his attention, and he tries to do too much at times
  • Lacks a clear strike point at times, use of hands can get him in trouble
  • Sometimes he’s very aware of what’s going on around him and sometimes he looks completely and utterly clueless
    • There’s a play in the SECCG where he snaps the ball and literally just stands there. Both sides of the line fan and SVP looks like his Xbox controller died and Beck takes off up the middle and SVP has no idea what’s going on until Beck runs past him

Sedrick Van Pran’s film is pretty underwhelming compared to the prospect we thought he was from watching Georgia games. His tape very much reminds us of another Georgia linemen from last year’s draft, Warren McClendon. He’s the type of guy who gets the job done, but when you actually focus on him, technique/mechanics are not what you would’ve hoped. SVP needs to go somewhere they can clean up his game because from the way he’s talked about he is already the leader an offensive line unit could use.

Updated 4/25/24: Our original summary still stands true. SVP is not ready to play yet, technique wise and mechanically he needs work, which sucks because he’s the leader any OL unit would kill to have. As a prospect, he is exactly what we saw at the Combine. Some plays he’ll look like the best linemen on the field and other times he looks like he needs a lot of work. We believe someone will take a chance on him earlier than the tape suggests he should go.

Updated 4/25/24:

  • Combine numbers and rank added to measurable portion of profile
  • Grade switched from “57%” to “56% with upside”
  • Projection switched from “Day 3” to “Rounds 3-5”
  • Negative Added
    • Sometimes he’s very aware of what’s going on around him and sometimes he looks completely and utterly clueless
      • There’s a play in the SECCG where he snaps the ball and literally just stands there. Both sides of the line fan and SVP looks like his Xbox controller died and Beck takes off up the middle and SVP has no idea what’s going on until Beck runs past him
