  • Has experience inside, outside, running jet sweeps, and so on
  • Releases well

The Negatives

  • Age
  • Somewhat slender frame
  • Does Not track deep passes all that well
  • Too many focus drops

Ladd McConkey is one of the most surprising and difficult scouts of the year. He possesses elite speed, route running, and after the catch ability that should have him in the first round consideration. However, there may not be another prospect in this class with as many concentration drops as him. He has good hands, but he drops passes that are right there and it could have coaches and film watchers shaking their head. He also can absolutely play on the outside (as opposed to those who say he is slot only) but really struggles with tracking and catching deep passes. He could and should feast on short and intermediate parts of the field but needs to work on the finer things to become an effective deep threat. McConkey has a lot of what Jerry Jeudy has been in the NFL in his game.
