Kris Abrams-Draine Player Summary:

The  Positives

  • Can chase crossers across the field
  • Inside-Outside Versatility
  • Better in man than zone
    • Extremely sticky coverage skills in man
  • Flashes the ability to be a disruptive blitzer
  • Hips look loose and fluid

The Negatives

  • Willingness to come down hill in run support varies
    • Slow/not as willing to come down hill in Kentucky game
    • Quick to come down hill in LSU game
    • Came down against Georgia
  • Tackling is inconsistent and needs work
    • Doesn’t wrap as much as you’d like to see
    • Looks good at times, and bad others
  • Zone is good, but his breaks in his zone drops aren’t as clean as man at times
    • Made mental error in zone vs LSU

Kris Abrams-Draine is a solid cornerback prospect in this year’s class. He has inside-outside versatility, and based on size may move to the slot, but we think he could handle outside duties if asked. He is better in man coverage than zone coverage, and has extremely sticky coverage skills. His zone is good, but you can see more issues with his zone than man. His breaks in zone drops not being as clean as man are the main thing. His willingness to come down hill and support against the run varies, and that’s a primary reason for his Day 1 and 2 tweener grade.
