Khyree Jackson Player Summary:
The Positives
- Long, lengthy CB
- Likes to press and jam
- Fluid hips
- Jackson may get outrun by some receivers or beat in press, but he has enough speed to stay within a step or so, and really understands how to use his length to make plays on the ball
- Really good tackler
- Uses length to help keep blockers off of him
- Fairly disruptive blitzer
- Gave up 3 catches in 3.5 games watched
- Shedeur kept trying to go after Jackson and got nothing
- Utah we don’t think he was even targeted
- In Washington game he got targeted a few times in first half
- First throw was incomplete
- Second throw, he gave up a long TD to Ja’Lynn Polk, but you can tell he was supposed to have safety help, but safety got drawn by the WR screen out of the stack formation
- Third throw was a completion to Odunze on a stack formation crosser play
- In USC game
- Gave up catch, but was draped on WR
The Negatives
- Needs to drive off his plant foot harder in change of direction
- Strength in question
Khyree Jackson is a prospect that we didn’t know what to expect when we turned on the tape. He transferred out of Alabama we believe because he couldn’t beat out who was there. Jackson while at Alabama did get picked on a lot, at that point in his career we never would’ve suspected he’d be a first round worthy CB. We aren’t sure who the Ducks CB coach is, but he has done a job and a half with Jackson in Eugene. Jackson in our opinion is one of the most sound CB prospects in this year’s class.
Updated 3/21/24: Upon a quick rescout, our thoughts have not changed about Khyree Jackson. We don’t care that we are higher on him than most, Jackson has a rare blend of size, length, athleticism, fluidity, and footwork. Even if you don’t think he’s fully polished as a prospect, someone has to take a chance on the skill set that’s there.
