Kedon Slovis Player Summary:
The Positives
- Athletic enough for the modern NFL
- Smooth Throwing motion
- Arm strength to make all the throws
- Pressure rarely affects him or his motion
- Pro style offense experience
- A ton of experience
The Negatives
- Will have transferred two separate times in college career
- Continuous statistical regression each of the last 4 seasons
- Underthrows too many receivers (not related to arm strength just placement)
- Needs to process faster and get through reads
- Lacks effective pocket escaping ability
- Struggles to see underneath coverage especially over the middle
I really believe there is upside to Slovis’s game, but he continues to regress. He was at his third college in BYU, and his regression continued. He did show flashes of the player he could be, but there is not enough there to see him drafted even on day 2. He got injured and ultimately benched (though his replacement played worse so thats something), yet his USC year shows what he could be in the right system. If there is a Brock Purdy type QB in this draft (a Day 3 pick who could go on to start) it is Slovis. Him going somewhere to backup a talented passer like KC, LAR, LAC, or any place like this would benefit him greatly.
