Kamren Kinchens Player Summary:
The Positives
- Sound tackler for the most part
- Eye discipline and ability read the field pretty good
- High motor and big time hustle player
- Decent playing deep, but not sure if the level of play will translate to next level
The Negatives
- Lacks the speed to play single high
- Seems afraid to get beat deep
- His single high drops are much deeper than you’d like to see
- Strength in question
- Can see a possible lack of strength in his tackling at times
- Hands in question dropped a few fairly easy picks
Side Notes:
- Not in love with how much Miami played him as FS
- Good recognition to jump routes, but you can tell that his closing speed to actually go get it is a hair slow sometimes
- Could see him being transitioned into a backer like Collins did to keep his career alive
Kamren Kinchens is an intriguing prospect. Upon early film we thought that his best course of action could be to bulk and get transitioned to LB right off the bat, but by the end of film study we believe that a team could keep him at safety and get fairly decent production. We do worry about his speed and playing single high, but outside of that he’s a pretty sound prospect.
Updated 4/24/24: Our original summary still stands mostly true. The change in comp from Collins to Delpit comes from the fact that we think he could thrive in a role similar to what the Browns do with Delpit where he’s primarily a nickel, but could play safety as well. He needs some coaching as a safety, but as a nickel should be a good not great starter off the bat.
