Javon Foster Summary:
The Positives
- Uses his hands really well
- Kick slide technique is pretty good
- Looks awkward at time though, he looks really stiff legged
- He can pull, and looks pretty smooth when doing so
- Raw, there’s a lot there to work with
- Strength doesn’t seem to be an issue
- Sees blitzes well
The Negatives
- Snap reaction time is concerning at times
- When he gets into his 2pt stance, he bends heavy at the hips and a lot less at the knees. Possible lower body tightness?
- Plays very very tall
- Lateral movement doesn’t look right, very hoppy/choppy
Javon Foster is a tackle prospect who we believe is not getting the love he deserves. According to Mock Draft Database he’s projected a 5th rounder. We acknowledge that Foster has his issues, primarily in his lower body mechanics, but we also think he does a lot of things well. He also has a solid combination of strength and ability to move. We also think there’s a rawness to him that if given to the right O-Line coach, he could become a force to be reckoned with.
Updated 3/12/24:
- Combine numbers and rank added to measurable portion of profile
- Projection changed from “Day 2, Fringe 1?” to “Late Round 2- Round 3”
- Foster’s profile will need to be updated again after his Pro Day, still questions for us surrounding him
