Jared Wiley Summary:

The Positives

  • Great Size
  • Insane speed for size
  • A willing blocker
  • Seems to catch most of what is thrown to him
  • Shows double move ability on routes
  • Best games came against biggest opponents

The Negatives

  • Willing to block but may get overpowered by NFL edge rushers (could use some added strength)
  • Want to see him use his size more in the red zone to box out defenders but NFL teams can teach this.

Wiley is my big sleeper, massive upside prospect at the tight end position for 2024. I wonder if he will climb up draft boards with his athletic testing, because no 6’7 person should move like he does. What separates Wiley is he is not developmental like say Zack Kuntz last year. Wiley runs very good routes, shows great hands on film, and has a willingness to block that should allow him to develop further at the NFL level. He can play inline or out wide and needs to play to this size more in the red zone, but could become almost unguardable. Like most in this class, he is 23 and therefore on the older side for the position, and I have no clue if I actually believe that he is 260 pounds, but his upside is sky high. There is not a great comp for him out there, but physically he is built and plays like Gesicki as a receiver, but has more ability and motivation to block.
