Jaden Davis Player Summary:
The Positives
- Inside-Outside Versatility
- Disruptive blitzer
- Also aware, is able to break off of it if necessary
- Solid tackler
- Not afraid of big receivers who line up in front of him
- Lined up across from Clemson’s Beaux Collins(6’3”) almost all game, and didn’t give up much of anything
- Looks comfortable in press or off
- Uses jam tech and arms in general to help keep stay glues in breaks without interference(most the time)
The Negatives
- Despite being a solid tackler, he very rarely ever wraps up. He just kind of launches himself at legs, that may not be as effective at next level, so we would like to see him wrap more
- Bigger receivers COULD give him issues at the next level
- Was targeted a decent amount, we suspect it was due to size/matchup
- Can get caught flat footed at times
- Wraps up bigger, stronger players(bigger backs and TEs) too high and slips off. Needs to use leverage to wrap low and take them down
- Poorly timed jump against Tez Walker in UNC game which sucked because the coverage wasn’t bad
Jaden Davis at Miami was an outside corner who could play slot. At the next level we like him as a slot who can play outside. We personally liked Davis a lot despite him not being a top name. With him being an outside corner for Miami we feel comfortable with wherever they want to play him at the next level, but with his disruptive blitzing and solid tackling we just think that he fits that slot defender role better.
