Drake Nugent Summary:
The Positives
- Good footwork and smooth laterally
- On film, he does not look as small as his measurables suggest
- Can pull, not the fastest lineman you’ll see, but moves well
The Negatives
- Strength in question
- Could improve at second level blocking. Feels like he can’t always get hands on and/or sustain
Drake Nugent as of this moment is our top ranked Center prospect. He’s got good lower body mechanics between his footwork and lateral movement. He moves well and could pull if asked, but he’s not super quick. Strength is in question at times on film, but it’s not super weakness. A situation where he could maybe sit a year and develop more strength would be great for him. The biggest area to improve for us is second level run blocking. There’s inconsistencies getting his hands on or sustaining.
