Donovan Edwards Summary:

The Positives

  • Willing blocker (though effectiveness varies)
  • Has some good burst
  • Plus vision
  • Passable receiver

The Negatives

  • Does not possess much power
  • Lacks even average elusiveness it seems
  • As you could infer from the two notes above, he really does not make many miss
  • Big games are deceiving (200 yard game vs OSU was the result of two big runs and a lot of nothing otherwise)

People who only look at stats are gonna love Edwards. On paper his yards per carry and overall production is impressive. People that watch tape are likely not as high. He has a 200 yard rushing game vs OSU in 2022, yet if you watch the game you see around 2 YPC paired with two long runs (including a 90 yarder) where he was untouched. He does possess good vision which is partially why he has the production, but as a pure runner he is not even average. His power is non-existent and elusiveness rarely makes an appearance. He will need a great offensive line to succeed at the next level utilizing his vision because he does not do a ton to create for himself.
