Graded Quarterback Traits:

  • Accuracy: 5/10 (It is spotty at best. For the most part he hits the short throws but the longer the throw the more sporadic it gets, and it is not due to lack of arm strength)
  • Anticipation: 3/10 (He sorely struggles here. It feels like he has the arm to make all of the throws but needs a lot of work on leading receivers on go routes especially. Too often does he throw it short or too far on wide open receivers)
  • Arm Strength: 7/10 (He has a very good arm but really struggles with deep accuracy)
  • Mechanics: 7/10 (He has a very smooth upper body motion. However, he needs to work on syncing up his lower half. He drifts back too much and does not truly step up when he needs to)
  • Mobility: 8/10 (He is a high level athlete for a quarterback but does not do much to make people miss after he has taken off)
  • Pocket Presence: 8/10 (Pretty good at sensing pressure and moving around in the pocket. Feet are always moving without being “happy”. He also rolls out and keeps his eyes downfield enough to where it should not be something he has to learn. Needs to work on drifting though)
  • Poise: 7/10 (Does not appear to be afraid of contact and getting hit. He gets a little jumpy at times though and makes some very off balance throws in the face of pressure. Needs to work on not playing hero ball)
  • Progressions: 4/10 (Struggles here more than you would want. A lot of his turnovers were from getting glued onto the first read and or not truly selling the look off)

Prospect Grade: 49/80; 62% (Starter Potential)

Projected Draft Day: 2

Player Comparison: Geno Smith

Player Summary:

Clayton Tune is what people think Will Levis is. He is an unfinished product with high level athleticism and a live arm. There are a lot of areas he needs to develop, especially his deep accuracy to match arm strength, but he is a project that could pay off big as a mid round pick if he gets the proper time to develop. There is a large gap between his floor and ceiling, but luckily he should come at the price of a second at most so it is a lot less risky
