Houston Texans rookie quarterback and second pick of the draft, CJ Stroud made his preseason debut. We emphasize again that it is the preseason so by no means should he be knocked heavily or praised for his limited action. Stroud struggled in his two series where he went 2/4 for 13 yards and threw an ugly interception where he never saw Jalen Mills underneath of the route.
The rookie quarterback was under a lot of pressure from the New England pass rush in his two series so that may have been a factor. It is worth mentioning that in college, Stroud also only threw 12 interceptions. The Ohio State alumni shined in college where he had a career total of 575 completions and over 8,000 passing yards and 85 pass touchdowns.
We will have to wait to see if the rookie quarterback will look closer to his prime college form so that he will be able to shine in the National Football League.
