Player Summary:

Freeland is a super athletic, really fluid moving tackle prospect this year. Freeland was by far one of the biggest winners from the combine after dominating pretty much every athletic test as well as the positional drills. Freeland is a good first level blocker with a real strength when doubling down. He’s really smooth when working his way up to the second level, but can’t always secure his block. Overall though, Freeland shows some inconsistency through his film while he’s out in space.

All I heard throughout the combine from DJ and Charles Davis was how much Freeland struggled against power and bull rushers. I saw what they were talking about, but I didn’t feel like it was as bad as they were talking it up to be. It is interesting to note that the RB did help chip on Freeland’s side a ton, so maybe that made it look better than it was. I thought overall Freeland looked pretty good in pass pro though. His pass pro was hit or miss at times, but I didn’t think it was enough to call him inconsistent. Freeland did struggle against ends that liked to work his outside and then plant and work back inside though.
