Quinn Ewers Player Summary:
The Positives
- Excels at rolling left for some reason
- Decent athleticism
- Good not great arm
- Effortless motion
- Lots of ability with touch passes
- Age
The Negatives
- Relies too much on touch
- Accuracy issues almost exclusive due to having awful chemistry with supposed top WR Xavier Worthy that is more Worthy’s fault ( They miss on connecting 5 times a game it seems)
- Injured for part of last year
- Can get happy feet in pressure
The tools are all there for the former all world recruit. Ewers flashed brilliance at times this past season. He also showed some large lows. The truly bizarre thing is that his accuracy issues are almost always when targeting Xavier Worthy. Worthy feels like Kayshon Boutte 2.0 (A wildly inconsistent receiver with a lot of hype that will tumble down draft boards). His hands are awful and his effort leaves much to be desired. When targeting everyone else Ewers is pretty darn good. He has an okay arm that is not special, but shows very good touch (perhaps too much) and decent anticipation. We could see a monster year out of Ewers with AD Mitchell now there and anticipated growth. However there is also a chance he cannot put it together and ends up returning to school for another year. He and Maye are very close in ranking in that they need a ton of growth but they are both only 20 and physical skills are there.
