Our Texans Ideal Offseason Plans/Thoughts:

  • First, foremost, and most importantly… GIVE DEMECO RYANS TIME!!! He is not going to fix this roster in a year!
  • Secondly, do not take a QB this year! The only acceptable QB to take this year is Stroud (Or Richardson if you are prepared to develop him for a couple years). Davis Mills did not play that horrible considering his weapons, and we feel many QBs make their big jump between years 2 and 3. If Mills isn’t it you have the cream of the crop in the QB class next year: Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Bo Nix, Quinn Ewers, etc.
  • Dameon Pierce showed he can be a top RB in this league between the tackles, you need a complimentary back, most likely faster with receiving skills
  • Cooks is unhappy and we don’t think he’ll want to stay. Metchie is still recovering from Leukemia. Nico Collins hasn’t proven enough to be WR1. Get Mills weapons and take the pressure off Pierce who faced stacked-box after stacked-box last season.
  • You need a TE. We like Brevin Jordan, but he hasn’t proven much at all. Quitoriano didn’t do much in year one either. Think veteran help here. We like Hooper because he can be a solid blocker for Pierce as well as a big reliable target over the middle for Mills.
  • Your offensive line could use work, but surprisingly it’s not the worst part of your team. Tunsil is one of the better tackles in the league, Green from what we heard picked it up toward the end of the year, Britt/Cann are reliable veterans, and Howard we don’t think is too bad. Maybe a mid round pick, but don’t over-prioritize it.
  • The Texans may have the worst defensive line in football. Remember Ryans was brought in as HC. He had guys like Bosa, Armstead, and Kinlaw in SF. We expect Ryans to address the D-Line heavily. We think the second overall pick is the perfect place for him to make his mark on this defensive line by taking Carter, Murphy, or Anderson depending on what happens at pick one.
  • Christian Harris had a great rookie year once he got to start. Don’t worry about your LB room. Remember that all of the 49ers linebackers were taken mid round or later(Warner-3, Greenlaw-5, Al-Shaair-UDFA, Flannigan-Fowles- UDFA). Ryans will hit on his LB picks.
  • Stingley played well before getting hurt, and Pitre had a strong rookie season. I expect both CB and S to be addressed at some point, but probably not early. It could possibly be a free agent as well.
  • UPDATE: Justin Britt has been released. Center has now been added to the already long list of needs.
