Prospect Profile: Skyy Moore

Player: Skyy Moore

School: Western Michigan

Height and Weight: 5’10”, 195

Combine Results:

  • 40: 4.41
  • Bench:
  • Broad Jump: 34.5’
  • Vertical Jump: 125’
  • 3 Cone: 7.13
  • Shuttle: 4.32
  • Other Notes: Tested pretty well and looked decent in the positional drills, another player the analysts were oddly gushing over which gives us slight concern,

Strengths: stutter steps on release, very fluid athlete, great speed after the catch, very good hands, can be used in a gadget way on end arounds and quick screens etc, good suddenness in routes, willing blocker, runs hard to sell handoffs

Weaknesses: Disappeared for stretches(but that may have been by play design as qb was not asked to go off of first read often), average size for a wide receiver, did not play against high level talent

Projected Draft Day: Day 1

Player Comparison: Elijah Moore

Player Summary: Skyy Moore was a player I was initially bullish on. For the main reason being that the “analysts” at the NFL combine would not stop talking about him. Usually when this happens, the prospects are not as good as they want you to think. However, watching tape on him showed that the analysts may actually be right in this case. He shows a lot of speed and elusiveness with the ball in his hands, very good moves during his release off the line, and decent hands. There are a few concerns though as he played very low level competition, he only has average size, and there were stretches where he disappeared in games. Regardless, he seems like a late first that can play the slot primarily, but has the skills to play outside or in a gadget role if asked. Initially we thought of Deebo, but we do not think Moore is as elusive as Deebo and may not be able to be used in the same way that Samuel is as a running back and as elite after the catch (although Skyy definitely carries upside there). Elijah Moore, however, may be more realistic as expectations go.
