Combine Results:

  • Other Notes: Did not participate as he recovers from Torn ACL.

Strengths: Good route running. Uses different moves on release (stutter steps, bursts, etc) to get past press or beat off coverage, fluid in movements especially when cutting on routes, recovery seems to be well ahead of schedule

Weaknesses: Tore ACL in January, not overly elusive as a runner

Projected Draft Day:Day 1 (Day 2 if injury does not heal right)

Player Comparison: Terry McLaurin

Player Summary: Jameson Williams is a hard person to find a current comparison for. He is very fast, with very fluid route running, and has good hands to match. He has an array of moves to get loose from corners and to beat press, and seems like a very dependable target. However, he is not overly elusive with the ball in his hands despite his speed, and may fit into a room as a deep and intermediate receiver, where he does not catch passes where he has to break a few tackles. He reminds us somewhat of Scary Terry. Like Williams, McLauren is a speed receiver, but also shows the ability to adjust his body extremely well to catches and also high point the ball. He is not super elusive in space, but can easily run by players. As most know, Williams tore his ACL in the National Championship Game, so his recovery will be under the spotlight. As long as his recovery is going smoothly, he will be a day one pick.
