Strengths: Has good hands, finds soft spots in zones, does run sharp routes occasionally (especially on comebacks and double move routes), runs different array of routes, willing run blocker, good at hand fighting to beat coverage

Weaknesses: Does not seem to possess a ton of in game speed, a lot of routes are rounded and not sharp, not all that elusive, uses the same move to try to beat press almost every time (one step hesitation then go out or in).

Projected Draft Day: Day 2

Player Comparison: Tyler Boyd

Player Summary: Dotson should be a good receiver in the NFL. He has a good array of routes already, very good hands, can be dependable, and get open especially versus zone coverage. However, he does not possess great speed or size, and has few ball carrier moves or shiftiness. While his route array is vast, most of them are not sharp and more rounded (although certainly not all of them). He also needs to add different ways to beat the press to his arsenal or else he may get held down every time. He reminds us somewhat of Tyler Boyd. Not a perfect comparison, but both are players who do their best work underneath, do not rely on speed, and are good route runners but also not the best at their position. He ran faster than I expected in the 40, but we do not believe that speed shows on tape most of the time. He is by no means a deep threat in our eyes, or at least he is much better suited in the slot. Most likely he will never be a true number one, but can definitely be a high volume receiver out of the slot and can fit with most teams.
