Combine Results:
- 40: 4.51
- Bench: DNP
- Broad Jump: 123
- Vertical Jump: 35.5
- 3 Cone: 6.89
- 20 Yd Shuttle: 4.32
- Other Notes: Walker continued the trend of all of the winners at the combine from Georgia. At his size, his athletic testing is unreal. He also looked like one of, if not the, best athlete of any of the EDGEs. While raw, he ran through the positional drills well and showed that he has a massive amount of upside.
Strengths: Elite athletic profile, positional flexibility to play along the line or even off ball linebacker, can be special if given time to develop, high character
Weaknesses: Extremely raw, very little college production, part of the georgia rotation, positional flexibility may also hint that he is positionless and needs a lot of development
Projected Draft Day: Day 1
Player Comparison: Rashan Gary
Player Summary: Walker is what everyone thinks Thibodeaux is. He has unreal athletic potential, and needs a lot of development. If he is able to get some pass rushing moves, he could be unstoppable. He also has the ability to transition more to a pass rushing linebacker that can play off the ball if asked. Since he was a part of the Georgia rotation, he did not have the most eye popping stats. He is going to need time and patience for whatever team takes him. He can play multiple different roles, but it may be best to stick him at one and just allow him to develop. Look at what the Cardinals did with Reddick as an example of what not to do, where they flip flopped his positions and it took him a while to get settled into his proper role. Instead, look to our comp of Rashan Gary and how the Packers have handled him. Gary was also very raw coming out of college, but had very good athleticism for his size that allows him to play linebacker versus defensive end. The Packers have not rushed him into starting, and he has responded by continuously growing and had a 9.5 sack season last year, with the needle pointing up. Walker has all of this potential, but wherever he is taken, he cannot be forced into starting.
