2026 4-Star Quarterback Will Griffin Commits to Florida

It was reported yesterday by Hayes Fawcett, that 2026 4-Star QB Will Griffin has committed to the Florida Gators. Griffin chose the Gators over Florida State, Michigan, and others.

Right now Griffin is the 2026 QB10 and 150th overall recruit, according to 24/7 Sports. He is 6’3”, 225 lbs and is the starter at Jesuit HS in Tampa, Florida. He’s coming off a strong sophomore season where he went 244/361 (67.6% comp) throwing for 3,404 yards, 34 TDs, and 10 INTs and adding 83 yards and a TD on 35 carries. As a passer, Griffin had a pretty major breakout in his sophomore year compared to his freshman year. As a frosh Griffin went 106/187 (56.7% comp) throwing for 1,653 yards, 18 TDs, and 9 INTs. He showed more efficiency as shown by his completion percentage, and basically doubled his yards and TDs without really increasing his INT number on over 100 more passes.

Griffin is currently the Gators only 2026 recruit. With NIL, the Transfer Portal, and all that CFB has become now, it is extremely hard to predict what the Gators QB room will look like when Griffin arrives on Campus. Assuming he doesn’t leave, current true freshman DJ Lagway would be the only competition as the Gators do not have a 2025 QB recruit. In 2026 Lagway would be a Junior and depending on how his college career pans out, could opt for the draft leaving Griffin in the mix to be the 2027 starter.
