It was reported by Hayes Fawcett yesterday that 2026 4-Star QB Noah Grubbs committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Grubbs chose Notre Dame over Michigan, UNC, and Miami. When Grubbs committed he said “All Glory to God, we’re bringing a National Championship home ☘️”
Grubbs joins 3-Star WR Dylan Faison as the Fighting Irish’s only recruits for 2026 so far.
Right now Grubbs is the 2026 QB11 and 165th overall recruit, according to 24/7 Sports. Grubbs is a 6’4”, 188 lb QB going into his Junior season at Lake Mary HS in Lake Mary, Florida.
As a freshman Grubbs went 109/213 (51.2% comp) throwing for 1,593 yards, 17 TDs, and 6 INTs. As a sophomore Grubbs had a pretty significant breakout. He went 208/354 (58.8% comp) throwing for 3,670 yards, 49 TDs, and 10 INTs. Grubbs was more efficient as a passer as shown by the jump in completion percent while more than doubling his yards and almost tripling his TDs on just about 100 more completions. Grubbs also almost doubled his INTs, so keeping an eye on how he protects the football over his junior and senior seasons could be a big thing for him.
As we mentioned in Will Griffin’s Commitment article, due to NIL, the Transfer Portal, and overall just how CFB is now, it’s hard to predict how the Notre Dame QB room will look when Grubbs gets on Campus. Assuming nothing changes, he will be walking into a big time battle for the starting QB spot. The Notre Dame QB room would consist of:
- Steve Angeli, 2022 3-Star… We aren’t 100% positive Angeli will be here. It depends on his eligibility. If he is, he would be a RS-Senior/Graduate.
- Kenny Minchey, 2023 4-Star, QB14, 169th overall recruit
- CJ Carr, 2024 4-Star, QB6, 45th overall recruit
- Deuce Knight, 2025 4-Star, QB8, 66th overall recruit
If by some odd phenomenon this is how the room looked come 2026, Grubbs would need to come ready to compete, Notre Dame has a 4-Star from every recruiting class leading up to Grubbs in 2026. When the time comes it should be a fun QB room dynamic to watch.
