It was announced a few days ago that 2026 CB Dorian Barney has committed to the now Kalen DeBoer-led Alabama Crimson Tide. Barney is a 6’1, 170 lb corner out of Suwanee, Georgia. As a sophomore at Peachtree Ridge High School in 2023, Barney totaled 32 tackles, 2 TFLs, 2 QB Hurries, 4 INTs, and 10 Pass Deflections. 

Barney chose The Tide over Ohio State, Florida State, and USC. When he decided to commit he said “I wanna be the best so I’m gonna go play for the best, RTR🐘” Alabama has a history of DB development under Nick Saban sending players like Minkah Fitzpatrick, Marlon Humphrey, and most recently Terrion Arnold to the NFL. With DeBoer and his staff coming in it’ll be a few years before we can confirm whether Alabama remains one of CFB’s DB-U’s… but they probably will.

Barney joins 3-Star Safety Jamarrion Gordon as Alabama’s only other 2026 recruit right now. A small class, but ranks 5th right now.
