2024 NFL Mock Draft 4.0 (2 Rounds)

The Gridiron Review’s 2024 NFL Mock Draft 4.0 (2 round). Check out our positional rankings for full breakdowns.

1. Chicago Bears (from Carolina)- Caleb Williams, QB, USC

Not much to this anymore. Worst kept secret in football at the moment. Williams joins a great situation with good weapons and should hit the ground running.

2. Washington Commanders- Jayden Daniels, QB, LSU

While this is likely, it is still not certain. The draft really starts with Washington and, it is true all signs point to Daniels, there is still a chance they swerve.

3. New York Giants (Via Trade w/ New England Patriots)- Drake Maye, QB, UNC

We have a sneaky suspicion the Giants are going to mess this draft up. If you look at our profile of him and other mocks, you’d know we are not as high on Maye. He needs time to sit and develop otherwise he may be a monumental bust (hence our comp of Sam Darnold). In steps the Giants, a team who desperately needs an alpha receiver and instead passes on one to take a QB to learn from…. Checks notes… Daniel Jones. Giants fans may initially be happy but this is not a good move in our opinion.

4. Arizona Cardinals- Marvin Harrison Jr, WR, OSU

It would be a shock if the Cardinals passed on drafting Harrison. They would likely have to be blown away with an offer and we do not see that offer materializing.

5. Minnesota Vikings (Via Trade W/ Los Angeles Chargers)- JJ McCarthy, QB, Michigan

Despite it not being logical, a trade involving Herbert would be so much fun. Realistically, it is borderline impossible due to the cap hit the Chargers would take. Instead we have a trade involving the 2 firsts Minnesota currently has to move up and take McCarthy. McCarthy is risky yet safe at the same time. Despite upside and floor discussions, it is likely he settles in somewhere around Alex Smith, which would be great for the Vikings.

6. New England Patriots (Via Trade w/ New York Giants)- Brian Thomas Jr, WR, LSU

Our first big shock of the draft. With the trade back, the Patriots cement themselves to building a better roster before the QB of the future takes over. A lot of you may think Nabers or
Odunze, but we do not see it that way. Nabers played almost exclusively in the slot, and that is almost all NE has on the roster right now. Odunze is definitely an option, but we think the Patriots aim big here and go for one of the best size/speed/production receivers we have seen in some time. It is risky, but it can payoff big time.

7. Tennessee Titans- Amarius Mims, OT, Georgia

We understand that Mims to most is not OT1. We get it, the lack of film/experience will scare people off, but the film that does exist shows a tackle that’s not just ready to help protect your QB now, but one with a pretty high ceiling. At the very least we felt he was one of the more consistent OTs of the group, which is one of the reasons we aren’t as high on Alt as the consensus.

8. Denver Broncos Via Trade W/ Atlanta Falcons- Bo Nix, QB, Oregon

Denver needs a QB. No matter what they say, if they actually roll into the season with Wilson, Stidham, and DiNucci as their quarterback room, it is a failure. In this scenario, Denver finds a way to go up and get the QB without sacrificing their other first. We believe the reports that Surtain is on the trade block. A young all pro corner is just what Atlanta needs. The Broncos throw in Baron Browning to sweeten the deal.

9. Chicago Bears- Chop Robinson, EDGE, Penn State

With the Bears having an established pass rusher already, they can take a stab at upside over immediate production. Chop can play the end or outside backer role and, we feel, has more upside than Dallas Turner or Latu.

10. New York Jets- Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State

If the Jets take anything other than an Offensive Tackle it will look worse than the Will McDonald pick last year. Morgan Moses was a good vet find, but at the end of the day the other tackle spot is only half filled. Tyron Smith hasn’t been able to stay healthy just look how many snap incentives he has in his contract, that’s not normal. Fuaga is an OT prospect we believe is ready to play and could have more to unlock. Having vets like Moses and Smith around could be a perfect scenario for him.

11. Los Angeles Chargers (Via Trade MIN)- Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

Due to the insane depth of the wide receiver class, we have them fall a hair. However, Odunze’s slide ends with the Chargers after their trade with Minnesota. The new regime can say all they want about building through the trenches, but their line is pretty good, and their receiver room is awful. They have one of the best young QBs in football and need to make sure he can succeed.

12. Philadelphia Eagles (Via Trade w/ DEN)- Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia

We buy the Eagles wanting to trade up, we do not buy that it is for a corner. Instead, we think they are eying up their latest Georgia Infinity Stone to add to the gauntlet. Bowers is more than a TE, and can play slot if needed. More 2 tight end sets would be possible, and overall he could be another elite weapon on that Philly offense.

13. Las Vegas Raiders- Terrion Arnold, CB, Alabama

The pick doesn’t change. Vegas let’s Minshew and O’Connell battle it out while probably adding a QB later to throw into the competition. Pierce drafts a guy on his side of the ball that fits the mold of what he’s looking for.

14. New Orleans Saints- Malik Nabers, WR, LSU

We have been adamant about the potential slide of Malik Nabers. If the Giants do not take him, we have him falling slightly. The Saints just so happen to need anyone at the position. Nabers has athletic upside and decent film, but it is just assumed he will be able to sharpen his routes and play on the outside. That uncertainty is why we have him not taken in the top 10. He can still be a great pro, but in this way he will not be depended on as a number 1 right away.

15. Indianapolis Colts- Nate Wiggins, CB, Clemson

Last year the Colts took a chance on a size/athleticism combination corner in JuJu Brents. Wiggins isn’t quite the size of Brents, but has similar if not better athleticism than Brents. Wiggins is our CB1 and we believe has a very high ceiling. The Colts developed Kenny Moore into the best version of himself and see a situation where they could get the most out of Wiggins.

16. Seattle Seahawks- Troy Fautanu, OL, Washington

One of our favorite prospect/team fits this year. The Seahawks need an IOL and Ryan Grubb knows a guy from his time at UW. Fautanu is our IOL1 and would be a big get for this offensive line unit.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars- Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo

Truth be told, even after multiple re-scouts, the Senior Bowl, and the Combine we aren’t on the Mitchell hype train. That being said it feels almost inevitable that he goes in the first round. Jags new DC Ryan Nielson likes to play heavy man coverage which we feel is a better fit for Mitchell than the Toledo scheme he played in.

18. Cincinnati Bengals- JC Latham, OT, Alabama

Yes Cincy brought in Trent Brown, but Brown hasn’t had all that much success outside of NE, not to mention he’s aging. Latham would be a great RT for Burrow while not having to learn LT footwork. Having vets like Orlando and Trent Brown would be massive for Latham’s development.

19. Los Angeles Rams- Byron Murphy II, DL, Texas

The Rams have a massive crater on their defense left by the retirement of Aaron Donald. Byron Murphy is a great prospect with a ton of upside, he can play the exact same role that Donald did. He will be able to open up more pass rushing lanes for Kobie Turner, Byron Young, and others.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers- Joe Alt, OT, Notre Dame

As stated earlier in this mock, we aren’t on Alt’s hype train like everyone else… very similar to how we weren’t on Skoronski’s hype train last year. We think Alt is most likely still a 1st rounder to some capacity as long as he goes to a team that fits what he does best(running the ball). Steelers should be one of the run heavier teams with Harris/Warren and new OC Arthur Smith.

21. Miami Dolphins- Dallas Turner, EDGE, Alabama

As we have said repeatedly, Dallas Turner is more project than day 1 ready. He reminds us a ton of Nolan Smith. Miami has the most injury prone defense in football, and needs some more pass rushing help. Drafting Turner would allow them to kick Bradley Chubb to DE and hopefully keep him healthier than he has been.

22. Denver Broncos Via Trade w/ PHI- Kamari Lassiter, CB, Georgia

With Denver trading Surtain to go get their QB, they are in desperate need of a CB. Lassiter is not just one of the top CBs still on the board, he’s a big time leader with a team first mentality. In a young secondary he could step up early in his career to take command of the backend.

23. Los Angeles Chargers Via Trade W/Minnesota Vikings (from CLE through HOU)- Javon Bullard, DB, Georgia

The Chargers are lacking a true FS and nickel defender(depending how you classify Derwin). Bullard is one of the most versatile DB prospects in the class. He has experience as both a safety and nickel defender and should provide the Chargers defense some flexibility to move Derwin around like a chess piece.

24. Dallas Cowboys- Olu Fashanu, OT, Penn State

This could easily be a RB overdraft a la Rashaad Penny when he was taken by the Seahawks, but we went with what a normal person would do(not Jerry). Dallas has the opportunity to reload their OL after losing Tyron Smith. Fashanu is a prospect who’s trending down for us, but Dallas is one of a few teams who always manage to get the most out of the OL they draft. It’s a really solid match for both sides.

25. Green Bay Packers- Jordan Morgan, OL, Arizona

In our last mock, we had Suamataia as the pick because we were looking for an IOL, but this time around we remembered there were reports of teams possibly moving Morgan to the interior. We think Morgan needs some development, but we also thought Zach Tom needed development and it seems like they’ve done a good job with his development.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Khyree Jackson, CB, Oregon

Yes, we know we are higher on Khyree Jackson than probably everyone, but in a class where we think a lot of the corners are still a bit raw, Jackson is pretty sound in our opinion and ready to play. He has a rare blend of size, length, athleticism, fluidity, and footwork that will help him matchup with Olave, London, and Mingo twice a year.

27. Arizona Cardinals (from Houston)- Darius Robinson, DL, Mizzou

Robinson adds DT/DE flexibility in Gannon’s system and can play both very well. We view him as the top pass rusher in this class, and the Cardinals get more help on their defensive line.

28. San Francisco 49ers Via Trade W/ Buffalo Bills- Xavier Legette, WR, South Carolina

If Aiyuk were to get resigned, we think it would have happened already. Buffalo could just take a rookie, but we wager that they want a proven commodity. They pull off a similar deal to what they did when they acquired Diggs from the Vikings, and the trade plays out similarly. The 49ers immediately draft Aiyuk’s replacement with someone that is faster and better after the catch, but not as polished a route runner. Legette is risky, but has some of the best upside of any receiver in this insane class.

29. Baltimore Ravens- Keon Coleman, WR, FSU

More than anything, Baltimore lacks size at the receiver position. Coleman has the upside of a great WR1, but will not be asked to be that with Zay Flowers there. He is a much bigger receiver that can go up and high point the ball from Lamar Jackson.

30. Detroit Lions- Braden Fiske, DL, FSU

This felt locked in as soon as Fiske screamed “Oh Yeah” after his 40 yard dash. He just seems like a Dan Campbell guy and just so happens to be at a position the Lions could use more help with.

31. Washington Commanders (Via Trade W/San Francisco 49ers)- Laiatu Latu, EDGE, UCLA

Washington has done a pretty good job rebuilding this team, but one thing they desperately need is pass rush. Latu is a first round talent there is no doubt about it. He is the most technically sound pass rusher and the most day 1 ready. It is a match made in heaven for Washington.

32. Kansas City Chiefs- AD Mitchell, WR, Texas

Kansas City will likely not have any clarification on the Rice situation by the time their pick is due. Even still, they could use some more pass catchers in the room. Mitchell profiles as a truly elite number 2, with WR1 upside, and that should be perfect for the Chiefs. What he does best though, is not drop the ball, something most in the room struggle with.

Round 2

33. Carolina Panthers- Ennis Rakestraw Jr., CB, Missouri

With Dane Jackson starting opposite Horn and Troy Hill starting at nickel(or at least those being projected) the Panthers could use an upgrade. Rakestraw to us is probably going to be a nickel at the next level and could take that spot over his rookie year before working his way into a more prominent role.

34. New England Patriots- Christian Jones, OT, Texas

The Patriots pass on an OT in Round 1, but still end up with our OT2 here in the beginning of the second round. Jones reminds us a lot of 2022 prospect Broderick Jones who if you remember was taken by Pittsburgh after a trade with the Pats. NE gets their other bookend tackle to go along with Mike Onwenu who they extended.

35. Arizona Cardinals- Jackson Powers-Johnson, OL, Oregon

JPJ is another OL we are not on the hype train of. We had a Day 3, Fringe Day 2 grade on him. Upon doing final profile updates we decided to take one final look at JPJ to make sure we didn’t miss something. The film we turned on was the best of what we had seen to date. Granted he still has some tendencies we worry about his grade probably will go up once we finish the final re-scout putting him in a position to be mocked in this range.

36. San Francisco 49ers Via Trade w/ WAS- Kingsley Suamataia, OL, BYU

Kingsley is an OL prospect that we believe could play OT or OG. He’s a good run blocker who gets good movement off the line, which will be great for CMC and the 9ers run game. His pass blocking though is up and down and he did have help a decent amount of the time at BYU. Lucky for him, the 49ers do a good amount of chipping with Kittle and co. and could be exactly the situation Kingsley needs.

37. Los Angeles Chargers- Blake Corum, RB, Michigan

Say what you want we all know it’s gonna happen lol. There is not much too this, they still need a running back and Corum is a Michigan legend.

38. Tennessee Titans- Jer’Zhan Newton, DL, Illinois

The Titans, on paper, do not have a bad team. The Levis situation will play out one way or another, but something they do need is some more pass rush. Specifically, on the interior. Newton is a pass rushing specialist, and will do well as a 3-4 DE.

39. New York Giants- Ladd McConkey, WR, UGA

The Giants pass on the wide receiver in the first and get lucky here. McConkey is similar to what they already have, but does have the athleticism to be a deep threat if needed. He could be a favorite target of Drake Maye when he is inevitably pushed into the starting role too quickly.

40. Washington Commanders (from Chicago Bears)- Tyler Guyton, OT, Oklahoma

In an ideal world, Guyton goes to a team like Dallas or Philly where he could either develop quicker or sit and develop for a year or so. Washington is neither of those, but their new OC is Kingsbury who came from college, so depending on what he decides to do with the offense, Guyton could be a fit here and be comfortable with the system being run.

41. Green Bay Packers (from New York Jets)- Tyler Nubin, S, Minnesota

For us this would be a bit of a reach pick, but we think Nubin would thrive in a defense that plays a lot of 2-High looks, which it sounds like the new Packers DC has done in the past.

42. Houston Texans (From Minnesota Vikings)- Jared Verse, EDGE, FSU

This is truly a luxury pick for the Texans. They have some of the best depth at every position in the league. We expect Ryans to stick to his roots and build an otherworldly pass rush rotation that will also feature Anderson and Hunter. Verse relies too much on power and is not ultra developed, but sitting behind those two could be extremely beneficial for him.

43. Atlanta Falcons- Kiran Amegadjie, OT, Yale

The Falcons roster is in much better shape than we would’ve thought(especially with our predicted trade). With their OL being one of their strongest starting units, their depth could use an upgrade, and with an aging Jake Matthews could use an eventual successor. Amegadjie, although concerned about how his play will translate with higher competition, has the skill set to be developed into a really good starter.

44. Las Vegas Raiders- Michael Penix Jr, QB, Washington

We are not convinced the Raiders are looking for a QB, but if Penix is still here they do not pass him up. Minshew can hold down the fort for as long as needed, but Penix would be a change in offense. He is a true gunslinger that will likely keep the receivers happy. He will turn the ball over a lot but we doubt Adams and Meyers will care as long as they’re getting theirs.

45. New Orleans Saints (from Denver Broncos)- Cooper Beebe, OL, Kansas State

With the loss of Andrus Peat the Saints need a new Guard. Beebe is a prospect we had concerns about after our film study, but after seeing his progress in the Combine drills we feel much better about Beebe being taken here rather than later.

46. Indianapolis Colts- Theo Johnson, TE, Penn State

Theo Johnson is not our best TE available, but he possesses a unique blend of run blocking, athleticism, and untapped potential that may attract teams over guys like Cade Stover. With Johnson, the Colts can use more 2 TE sets and he is a monster red zone target for Richardson.

47. New England Patriots (Via Trade with NYG, Originally SEA)- Jordan Travis, QB, FSU

New England chooses to build their roster instead of forcing the quarterback, and get rewarded with a player that may have been gone if not for his injury. With Brisset holding down the fort, Travis can continue to heal from his leg injury and possibly get some snaps at the end of the season. If he works out, it is a steal for the Pats.

48. Atlanta Falcons (from Jacksonville Jaguars)- Javon Baker, WR, UCF

Atlanta has done well revamping the team under Raheim Morris. Even with the additions of Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore, they could still use a higher upside WR2. Javon Baker reminds us a lot of Rashee Rice last year and could be a stellar pairing with London, Pitts, and Mooney.

49. Miami Dolphins Via Trade W/Cincinnati Bengals- Xavier Worthy, WR, Texas

This feels too good to be true doesnt it? Worthy to the Dolphins feels like destiny. Even though he had a great combine testing, we imagine it does not vault him into the first. Instead the Dolphins strike when the time is right and allow Worthy to learn how to use his speed from the best speed receiver in the game.

50. Denver Broncos Via PHI (Originally NO)- Bralen Trice, DL, Washington

The Broncos could use some extra pass rushing power on the interior. Trice is falling a bit after a bad combine and injuries, but still could be a great value in the second round as someone who can play DT or DE.

51. Pittsburgh Steelers- Tykee Smith, DB, Georgia

With Jack being a Georgia fan, Tykee Smith is one of his favorite prospects in the class. We believe Smith is going to be one of the biggest steals in the draft. We think he’s going to be the 2023 Brian Branch. A do-it-all safety who thrives in the nickel who goes way later than he should’ve gone.

52. Los Angeles Rams- Payton Wilson, LB, NC State

Really the primary reason why Wilson is falling is because we think his medicals are going to scare teams off. The Rams are lacking a second LB next to Ernest Jones, and the Rams have shown they are willing to give skilled players with not so great medicals(Tre White) a chance.

53. Philadelphia Eagles- Graham Barton, OL, Duke

Barton isn’t a top prospect like the consensus believes he is, although we like him as a mid round gem. Philly is the perfect fit for Barton as he provides 5 spot versatility, he plays with an attitude and mean streak, and Philly has a history of developing linemen. Match made in heaven.

54. Cleveland Browns- Trey Benson, RB, FSU

This is truly dependent on the recovery of Nick Chubb, which has been very hush hush. Benson is very similar to Chubb as a homerun threat with some power but not much as a pass catcher. He is not Chubb’s caliber, but would be a great pairing with Jerome Ford if Chubb has an uncertain future.

55. Cincinnati Bengals Via Trade W/ Miami Dolphins- Jalen McMillan, WR, Washington

The Higgins situation is muddled, but we would be shocked if he is on the Bengals next season. Even if he stays, we are not convinced they have the WR3 they want on the roster. It could be Charlie Jones, but adding another good option does not hurt. McMillan runs good routes, is a plus athlete, and can catch most of what is thrown his way. He would be a very good addition for Joe Burrow.

56. Dallas Cowboys- Audric Estime, RB, Notre Dame

This could be any number of running backs here. Heck, they could take one in the first. However, we think they go with one of the best options available in Estime. He had a breakout season for the Fighting Irish, and does a lot for you. He has power, pass catching ability, decent elusiveness, and can be an every down back if you need him to be.

57. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Troy Franklin, WR, Oregon

Tampa’s receiver depth is bad. With them already addressing corner, we think they could after a vertical field stretcher that should be the WR3 and offers a different skill set than Evans and Godwin.

58. Green Bay Packers- Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M

We originally put down our LB2 in this spot, Ty’Ron Hopper, but after a little consideration we realized that Hopper plays a similar-ish role to Quay Walker. Cooper for us is a good not great prospect who’s ceiling needs to be developed and unlocked more than the “analysts” let on. GB has done a good job developing Walker, and we hope that they can do the same for Cooper who off the bat should be better than Walker in coverage.

59. Houston Texans- TJ Tampa, CB, Iowa State

We really like what Houston has done with the CB room this offseason. We think if they can stay healthy Ryans should be able to get the most out of former Top 10 picks Jeff Okudah and CJ Henderson. However, it’s a big if, especially for Okudah. We have a fringe 1st round grade on Tampa and believe he needs to go somewhere that isn’t super zone heavy or where he can be developed. Houston is a really good fit for him.

60. Buffalo Bills- Brendan Rice, WR, USC

Despite acquiring Aiyuk, Buffalo’s receiver room still lacks. They need firepower and size. Brendan Rice adds the size. He could be viewed as the Gabe Davis replacement, but we feel Rice can handle a higher target load than Davis. We kicked around a power back, but you need to maximize Josh Allen and any superbowl window while you can.

61. Detroit Lions- Johnny Wilson, WR, FSU

Another instance of Dan Campbell falling in love with traits over skill. Johnny Wilson is massive and should be able to stick at wide receiver, at least for the time being. If he is more of his 2022-2023 self versus this past season, this could be an incredible find for the Lions.

62. Baltimore Ravens- Mike Sainristil, DB, Michigan

One of the best teams in the league at developing DBs and playing to their players strengths. Sainristil could not pray for a better situation. Sainristill CAN play Day 1, but also has a fairly high ceiling as he’s only been playing DB for 2 years now. Sainristil gives Baltimore the flexibility to move Hamilton and Williams around to give different looks. On one set of downs, Sainristil can be a corner, nickel, and safety… tell us that’s not Baltimore’s MO.

63. San Francisco 49ers- Jonathon Brooks, RB, Texas

The 49ers have been blessed with McCaffrey’s overall health being better than what it was in Carolina. His usage is off the charts and they likely want to get a higher end backup in there. Brooks is coming off a torn ACL and has not been able to do any testing, but still should be a day 2 pick. He has excellent vision and can catch the ball, two things that McCaffrey prides himself on.

64. Kansas City Chiefs- Jared Wiley, TE, TCU

The Chiefs have to address tight end at some point right? We had them taking Darnell Washington last year and they did not. This year, we have them taking Wiley. He is a great combination of size and speed who would greatly benefit from learning for a year. Who better to learn from than Travis Kelce.
