2024 NFL Draft’s Best Prospect Team Fits: Cooper DeJean

Truthfully, at first we weren’t fans of this prospect-to-team fit. We thought Cooper DeJean either needed to be somewhere that developed CBs or played a man heavier defense. Upon sitting on this pick for days now, we actually really like this fit. Cooper DeJawn, as Philly fans will probably start to call him, flashed as a top prospect when playing a nickel role in Iowa’s defense in 2022. With the pick of Quinyon Mitchell in the first(for better or worse), it is going to allow DeJawn to play the nickel rather than on the outside. It will allow him to showcase his ability to blitz as well as play more of the underneath zones which is where we thought he thrived compared to playing deep. DeJawn should flash as a rookie, and we would suspect look like a better pick than Mitchell.
